This catalog is from Mitchell Johnson's 2005 solo exhibition at the I. Wolk Gallery in St. Helena, CA. Mitchell Johnson is well known for his modernist landscapes of Europe and Cape Cod. For more than 25 years, he has simultaneously produced color-field paintings which explore the emotional and psychological content of color. Johnson was a 2007 artist in residence at the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation. He completed his MFA in painting at Parsons School of Design in New York in 1990.
