The Centre for Mechanics of Micro-Systems was founded at NTU in January 1999 under a special research funding from the National Science and Technology Board (NSTB) and the Ministry of Education of Singapore. The Centre houses major industrial and collaborative research projects and specialises in mechanics of computer hard disc drives, mechanics of miniaturized sensors and actuators, mechanics of micro-electro-mechanical Systems, rotating machinery vibration and modal testing and analysis methods, dynamics and vibration measurement and analysis of industrial miniaturized components.
