Smiley's People

The coded telephone call to British Intelligence from a former Soviet general--and former British secret agent--is clear and simple. He was once one of George Smiley's people--and he wants to speak to his now-retired supervisor. But a Soviet-made assassination device speaks first, and Britain's horrified espionage leadership summons Smiley from his peaceful life back to the center of the storm. The twisting trail of deceit and subterfuge will eventually lead Smiley to his ultimate confrontation: the final agonizing battle against Karla, his mortal enemy and opposite number inside the Soviet Union.
